Businessmen from St-Tite who were in charge an Industrial Promotion Committee came into contact with Mr. GA Boulet to establish a mens dress shoe factory in St-Tite.

The foundations were laid in 1933 in an old abandoned building because of its poor state. It opens its doors under the name of “The St-Tite Shoe Co.” Ltd. At first, there were six senior employees and 25 to 30 workers.

During World War II, the company became, the leading provider in shoes and boots for the Canadian Armed Forces through the Ministry of National Defence. At the time they produced 200 to 300 pairs per day, 75% were destined for the army.

Robert, Roger and Reynald (Sons of GA Boulet) gradually began to manufacture the western style boot to then become the first Canadian company to specialize in the manufacturing of western boots.

The three Boulet brothers set up a big experimental rodeo that would be the prelude to a western festival whose fame now crosses the borders of Quebec.

The late 1980s were marked by a change in direction when the grand sons of GA Boulet, Pierre and Louis, joined the company in 1987. Currently the fourth generation has made their debut in the family business. Jenny, since 2013 working in the sales department and François since 2015 in the Finance Department.

Still housing its original facility, the company now employs around 200 people. The annual capacity of the plant is now 200,000 pairs made from leathers from Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia.

Founded in 1933, Boulet Inc. is a Canadian company that presents itself as the first and largest manufacturer of western boots in the country. G.A. Boulet is the oldest western boot company in North America which is continuously owned by the same family.
